Playskool

House rules — the Playskool toys floor

Using the site

Read it, bookmark it, send a mat to a grandparent. What you may not do is copy the write-ups, the mat descriptions or the photograph set wholesale onto another site. The words were written here.

Figures on the page

Every price and stock note on a mat is a snapshot taken when the floor was last swept. Toy prices move weekly and stock moves daily. The figure shown when you reach the listing is the real one, and if the two disagree, the listing wins.

Names on the boxes

Playskool, Playskool Heroes and Playskool Friends are names belonging to Hasbro, Inc. The character names moulded into the figures — the Marvel line-up, the Rangers, the galaxy faces, the ponies — belong to their own owners. We use them because they are printed on the box.

Advice, not instructions

Age brackets, volume notes and washing suggestions here are a parent's judgement, not a safety certification. The printed label on the box is the authority on what age a toy is for, and it wins over anything written on this floor.

If something is wrong

A mat with a mistake on it gets fixed the same week. Tell us what you saw and on which page.

What this means for the Playskool toys on these mats

The floor is re-read every few days, so none of this sits still for long. Playskool boxes move between mats when the play changes, parents send corrections, and the blocks end up everywhere regardless.

It lands in the same pile as the blocks and the soft friends, because parents sort by room rather than by range. A Playskool toy is built for that pile, and the Playskool colour is moulded in rather than sprayed on.

The best sign of a good box is that play starts on the way back from the shelf. Explorers do not wait for a flat surface, and the fun does not depend on one.
